Project Lifecycle

	Discovery Stage The first step in developing a home electronic systems integration plan is defining your expectations, from whole house audio, lighting, video cameras, motorized window treatments, computer networks, distributed video, content storage to Home Cinemas. We will schedule a meeting with you at our Experience Center which is set up in a real home with numerous working sub-systems for hands-on experience to help define your interests. Having a set of plans or floor layout for your project helps us discuss various options, issues to consider, and other possibilities and challenges. This meeting is very important to learn what you are looking for, how sophisticated you want your system(s), the way you live or want to live, and how electronic home systems can complement your lifestyle. For example, knowing that you entertain frequently tells us Whole House Audio and Lighting Controls may be appropriate for you. Or if you are a movie buff with a tremendous library of movies, we need to explore Video Content Management and Home Cinemas. This is why we consider the Discovery Stage of the project so critical. We explore to gain an understanding of what you really want and what is important to you. We ask, we listen and we learn.
	Project Plan Stage The project planning meeting is a no obligation educational trip for us both and usually takes a couple of hours. The product of this initial meeting is a clear, easy to read room by room summary of your project and budget pricing.
	Design Agreement Once you have decided to move forward with your home automation plan, you commission us to develop your design plan and we execute an agreement for the design of the project. At this time, you are assigned one of our System Project Managers who will be in charge of finalizing your detailed design and proposal, as well as seeing that it is implemented properly. This agreement lays out the cost of this design which is a small percentage of the overall project plan budget. The design is yours.
	Design Stage Your Project Manager, collaborating with other members of our staff, your architect and/or builder, lighting and/or interior designer, takes your project plan and puts it into a detailed design. This design includes specific equipment to be used by area/room; the controls and programming necessary to ensure ease of use; AutoCAD drawings of your project showing wiring details; and product and control placement. Lastly, the design itemizes a complete project proposal of costs and implementation phases. Preparing the detailed design usually takes about two weeks depending on the size of the job. When completed, your Project Manager will schedule a time to review it with you completely, making any changes and/or adjustments you require. Once the detailed plan is complete, we will ask you to sign off on this document defining the specification of the work and the payment schedule. By signing off on the detailed design, you ensure we have captured your unique design accurately and you are ready for us to proceed. At this time, we will require a deposit.
	Implementation Stage Your Project Manager takes your approved design and schedules manpower, coordinates with various building trades and works with purchasing to order your equipment. Your Project Manager stays with you on the job from the start to completion and is your contact for information. He can be reached by cell, email, fax or office phone. Change orders are a natural part of most jobs. No matter how successful the design process, most of our clients add to the job. We treat each change order (changes to the approved design) as a new order and as such it is added or subtracted from the original price. Additional change order costs are due immediately upon agreement. Most implementations go in phases from pre-wire to product receipt, testing and programming to field installation, and finally the project quality review.
	Quality Review Stage Our quality review contains several steps: -Testing and verification of all wire runs, equipment hookups, performance and ease of use. -Reviewing the controls and how to use them, making any changes that would suit the way you want the system to operate per the original design. -Training you and/or your family how to use and how you can reach us for any questions. Once this is completed you will be asked to sign off on the completion and pay the final balance due on your project. -The 60 day Specialty Review. Our final method includes a scheduled visit to the site after you have lived with your system for 60 days to review how it works, determine if any changes are necessary and to set out a plan to make any changes you request. Minor changes are no cost, significant changes to the original agreement will be treated as a new order and will follow the same process as above. Specialty Integrated Systems Support is always available. We offer 24/7 support for emergencies and for any changes you may want to make in the future.
